Good Website Navigation

When making a website, or having one made for you, there are a few things to keep in mind when trying to make the website as visitor friendly as possible.

1. Attractive – Your website must be pleasing to the eye. If it is overly cluttered, or devoid of content, a visitor will most likely not stay long.

2. Informative – Your front page needs to give all pertinent information about your website and whatever it offers to the visitor in a clear and concise manner, for this you might want to hire online marketing company. A visitor doesn’t want to have to search everywhere just to find out what you’re all about, and if they get frustrated it is doubtful they will return to your site.

3. Easy To Navigate – A row of tabs on the top of your website with simple labels such as “About Us” or “Services” can assist visitors in getting to the section they need easily and quickly. Any recent news or special offers can be displayed on the front page to get visitors excited about new developments or deals.

4. Compatibility – There are a lot of browsers out there (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, etc.) and if your website doesn’t look right on any of those browsers you could loose the potentially significant amount of visitors that may be coming from those browsers. Make sure your website is tested on all the most popular browsers and make any changes needed for better compatibility.

5. Fill In the Blanks – Any links on your website that link to another part of your site should take visitors to a useful page. If you have incomplete or outdated pages that hinder a visitor’s browsing experience they may decide to take their business elsewhere.
